Cave + Post Trading Co. is the result of Patrick and Mary Burch’s dream of opening a menswear store. The project has two distinct spaces...the house in the front is the trading post, or “Post” -- a boutique with a curated collection of quality menswear lines and accessories as well as handpicked thrifted one of a kind finds. Out back, a courtyard area leads to an artisan workshop, or makerspace – the “Cave” – that has been outfitted to accommodate a variety of skilled trades. A limited number of artisans will use the makerspace and equipment at no charge, in exchange for teaching community classes. Within the rooms of the charming house-turned-boutique, Cave + Post carries popular brands like Freenote, Howler Brothers, Texas Standard, Taylor Stitch, and Rhythm, plus a selection of one of a kind finds. With a focus on American-made goods, the shop also offers accessory lines including Shinola watches and sunglasses from AO Eyewear. A curated selection of vintage clothing and jewelry, plus housewares and personal care products are also artfully displayed throughout the Western-themed space. A separate music room showcases a collection of guitars that can be tried before purchase. Basically, almost everything displayed in the shop is for sale....from the clothing for your closet to the art and guitars on the walls to outfit your own personal man cave. Future happenings include live music events in the courtyard and monthly Makerspace classes for the public with instruction in welding, woodworking, blacksmithing, leatherworking, and more.
